Ikea Romania and UNICEF Romania launches for the winter holidays the ‘Together for Education’ campaign. For every toy the Klappar set bought a part of the money will be donated to UNICEF. Ikea Romania and UNICEF Romania proposed to develop a multifunctional centre where the children, especially the vulnerable ones, with ages between 0 and 6 years to benefit of education services, medical and social assistance, and the parents of parental and professional advisory. The goal of the project is to create a space to offer the children equal chances of developing, no matter the ethnic group, the religion of the disability.

With only one store, Ikea Romania had in only one year total incomes of 104.7 million euros, throughout the entire 2008, the number of persons who visited the store being of over 3 million. The biggest sales recorded in September, after the launching of the new catalogue: 9.4 million euros, with over 275.000 visitors. The furniture represented about 60% from the Ikea store` s sales, the rest being represented by accessories and home decorations. Among the furniture products, the best sold were: the combinations of closets, with over 27.600 sold units, the kitchens, with over 20.300 units and the bookstores.
